چکیده

We present subarcsecond resolution dust continuum observations of the protostellar collapse candidate B335 made with the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer at wavelengths of 1.2 and 3.0 mm. These observations probe to < 100 AU size scales and reveal a compact source component that we identify with a circumstellar disk. We analyze these data in concert with previous lower resolution interferometer observations and find a best fit density structure for B335 that consists of a power law envelope with index p = 1.55 ± 0.04 (r . 5000 AU) together with a disk (r < 100 AU) of flux F1.2mm = 21 ± 2 mJy. We estimate a systematic uncertainty in the power law index δp . 0.15, where the largest error comes from the assumed form of the dust temperature falloff with radius. This determination of the inner density structure of B335 has a precision unique amongst protostellar cores, and it is consistent with the r profile of gravitational free-fall, in accord with basic expectations for the formation of a star. The flux (and implied mass) of the compact component in B335 is typical of the disks around T Tauri stars. Subject headings: ISM: globules — ISM: individual(B335) — radio continuum: ISM — stars: formation — accretion, accretion disks Based on observations carried out with the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer. IRAM is supported by INSU/CNRS (France), MPG (Germany) and IGN (Spain).

We report the discovery of a nearly edge-on disk about the A0 star HD 32297 seen in light scattered by the disk grains revealed in NICMOS PSF-subtracted coronagraphic images. The disk extends to a distance of at least 400 AU (3. 3) along its major axis with a 1.1 μm flux density of 4.81 ± 0.57 mJy beyond a radius of 0. 3 from the coronagraphically occulted star. The fraction of 1.1 μm starlight...

We present a high–resolution study of NGC 2264 IRS1 in CS 2→1 and in the 3-mm continuum using the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer. We complement these radio data with images taken at 2.2 µm, 4.6 µm, and 11.9 µm. The combined information allow a new interpretation of the closest environment of NGC 2264 IRS1. No disk around the B–type star IRS1 was found. IRS1 and its low–mass companions are ...

The 25 years following the serendipitous discovery of megamasers have seen tremendous progress in the study of luminous extragalactic H2O emission. Singledish monitoring and high resolution interferometry have been used to identify sites of massive star formation, to study the interaction of nuclear jets with dense molecular gas and to investigate the circumnuclear environment of active galacti...
